Brute Force REDWOD

Posted on 04 August 2017

First and foremost, Brute Force is not claiming that we started RED Friday or that it is our initiative. It was actually started back in 2005, with its beginnings in an email directing people to wear RED on Fridays across the nation in support of our troops. (Want to learn more about the history? RED is an acronym that stands for Remember Everyone Deployed. R.E.D. Friday was created to remind people of our heroes overseas and show that we are thinking of them. People across the country wear red every Friday to serve as a reminder and spread the message of how important it is that we keep our troops in our thoughts.

We here at Brute Force just decided to take it a step further and make it relevant to our community.

What is REDWOD?

Remember Everyone Deployed (RED) Workout of the Day (WOD) - A workout that we will post and do every Friday here at Brute Force and encourage you to do the same.

Why?

Because we have friends that we have built very strong relationships with that are continually deployed and they are always on our mind while they are gone. We're not going to get all deep on you...but feel it is sufficient to say that we sweat and bleed with these troops while they are here at home, and feel it is necessary to continue to do so while they are gone. We offer this workout to them (and to us) as a way to stay in touch when we can't. To sweat together while apart. The premise is that we will be doing this WOD here while they are doing the same WOD there (wherever there is). A little piece of home for them to know we are all doing the same workout, at the same time...in different parts of the world.

These RED WODS will be programmed either by Brute Force Coaches and/or our brothers and sisters in arms. Workouts will include body weight and Brute Force Gear as that is what our teams have while on deployment.

REDWODS:

1) Are legit tactical fitness workouts and will NOT be easy.

2) Will always include a burden carry to symbolize the weight that the troops and their friends and families carry during these deployments.

3) Will be posted every Friday in hopes that you will join us in doing them and supporting those who serve.

If you feel it necessary to bash this initiative, take your shit somewhere else. These are our friends and family, and we here at Brute Force will take exception to anyone who has a problem with this. Thank You.
